1. License grant

Subject to your compliance with this EULA, Paper Cat Audio grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the purchased software for your own personal or professional creative work.

Your purchase grants you the right to use the software. It does not transfer ownership of the software, source code, branding, design, or underlying intellectual property.

2. Your music belongs to you

Paper Cat Audio does not claim ownership of music, recordings, compositions, sound design, performances, mixes, masters, or other creative works you produce using properly licensed Paper Cat Audio software.

You may use the software in both personal and commercial projects, including:

  • released music

  • client work

  • commissioned work

  • film, television, games, podcasts, and other media

  • live performance

  • streaming and online content

  • commercial recordings

  • sound design

  • educational projects

  • other lawful creative work

You do not owe Paper Cat Audio royalties, revenue shares, publishing rights, credits, or additional license fees based solely on your use of the software in your creative work.

3. Commercial use

Commercial use of musical and creative output generated using Paper Cat Audio software is permitted.

You may sell, license, distribute, publish, broadcast, monetize, perform, or otherwise commercially exploit creative works made using the software.

This permission applies to your creative output, not to redistribution of the Paper Cat Audio software itself.

4. Installation and devices

A license is intended for use by a single purchaser.

Unless a product-specific license states otherwise, you may install the software on multiple computers that you personally own or control, provided the software is primarily used by you.

You may not use a single-user license to provide general access to the software for multiple unrelated users.

If Paper Cat Audio later introduces team, studio, educational, enterprise, or multi-user licenses, those licenses may be governed by separate terms.

5. Studio and client use

You may use Paper Cat Audio software in your own studio or production environment when working on projects for clients.

Clients do not need to purchase their own license merely because their music was processed using your licensed copy of the software.

However, if a client, collaborator, employee, or other person wishes to install or independently use the software on their own system, they must have their own valid license unless another license arrangement expressly permits that use.

6. Collaboration

You may collaborate freely on creative projects made using Paper Cat Audio software.

You may render, bounce, export, print, freeze, or otherwise commit processed audio and share that resulting audio with collaborators.

You may not share the plugin installer, plugin files, license credentials, or other restricted software materials with collaborators unless they independently hold an appropriate license.

7. Prohibited redistribution

You may not copy, upload, distribute, share, sublicense, rent, lease, lend, publish, sell, resell, or otherwise make the software itself available to another person except where Paper Cat Audio expressly permits it.

This includes sharing:

  • installer files

  • plugin binaries

  • activation credentials

  • serial numbers

  • license files

  • protected download links

  • cracked or modified versions

  • substantially equivalent unauthorized copies

You may make reasonable backup copies for your own use.

8. Reverse engineering and modification

Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decode, circumvent technical protections, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code or internal implementation of the software.

You may not modify the software for redistribution or create unauthorized derivative versions of the software.

Nothing in this section restricts rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

9. Presets and user-created content

Unless otherwise stated, presets, parameter settings, effect chains, project files, and other creative configurations you create using Paper Cat Audio software may be used, shared, or sold as part of your own creative work.

You may not distribute Paper Cat Audio software itself as part of a preset pack, template, project, sample pack, or other product.

If Paper Cat Audio supplies factory presets, samples, impulse responses, or other bundled content with separate license terms, those additional terms will apply to that content.

10. Updates and upgrades

Paper Cat Audio may provide updates, bug fixes, maintenance releases, compatibility improvements, or feature changes from time to time.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchase of a license does not guarantee:

  • lifetime updates

  • perpetual compatibility with future operating systems

  • perpetual compatibility with future DAW versions

  • future feature additions

  • support for every plugin format

  • free access to major paid upgrades

Minor updates may be provided free of charge at Paper Cat Audio’s discretion.

Major upgrades, new editions, or substantially expanded versions may require a separate purchase.

11. Support

Paper Cat Audio may provide reasonable technical support for current products.

Support may include help with installation, authorization, compatibility, or reproducible software defects.

Paper Cat Audio is not responsible for providing general DAW instruction, computer repair, operating-system support, or troubleshooting unrelated third-party software.

12. Compatibility

You are responsible for reviewing the stated system requirements and compatibility information before purchasing or installing the software.

Paper Cat Audio does not guarantee compatibility with every computer, operating system, DAW, plugin host, hardware configuration, or third-party application.

Future operating-system, DAW, hardware, or plugin-standard changes may affect compatibility.

13. Demo and evaluation versions

If Paper Cat Audio provides demo, trial, beta, preview, or evaluation versions, those versions may include additional limitations.

They may be time-limited, feature-limited, unstable, unsupported, or otherwise unsuitable for production use.

Separate beta or preview terms may apply where specified.

14. License transfers

Unless Paper Cat Audio expressly permits otherwise, licenses may not be resold or transferred to another person.

Paper Cat Audio may establish a license-transfer process in the future and may impose reasonable administrative requirements or restrictions on transfers.

Any transfer permitted by law or by Paper Cat Audio must include transfer of the applicable license rights and cessation of use by the original license holder.

15. Refunds

Purchases are subject to the Paper Cat Audio Refund Policy.

Receiving a refund may terminate your license to use the refunded software.

If a refund is issued, you must stop using the refunded software and delete any copies in your possession or control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Creative works that were lawfully created and completed before the license terminated are not retroactively invalidated merely because the software license later ended.

16. Intellectual property

Paper Cat Audio retains all right, title, and interest in and to the software and associated intellectual property.

This includes, where applicable:

  • source code

  • object code

  • algorithms

  • DSP implementations

  • interface designs

  • artwork

  • documentation

  • trademarks

  • logos

  • product names

  • branding

  • factory content

  • other proprietary materials

No rights are granted except those expressly stated in this EULA.

17. Third-party components

Paper Cat Audio software may incorporate third-party libraries, frameworks, open-source components, or other technologies.

Those components may be governed by their own license terms.

Where required, applicable third-party notices or licenses may be included with the software or its documentation.

18. Termination

Your license remains in effect unless terminated under this EULA.

Paper Cat Audio may terminate the license if you materially violate this EULA, including through unauthorized redistribution, piracy, fraud, or deliberate circumvention of licensing protections.

Where reasonably appropriate, Paper Cat Audio may provide an opportunity to correct the violation before termination.

Upon termination, you must stop using the software and delete copies under your control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

19. No guarantee of creative results

Paper Cat Audio software is a creative tool.

Results will vary based on source material, parameter settings, signal chain, gain staging, hardware, software environment, and user technique.

Demonstrations, presets, marketing materials, and examples are illustrative and do not guarantee identical results in every project.

20. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the software is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Paper Cat Audio does not guarantee that the software will be completely error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with every environment, or suitable for every particular purpose.

Nothing in this EULA limits warranties or consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded.

21. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Paper Cat Audio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the software.

This includes, where legally permitted:

  • lost recordings

  • lost project files

  • lost profits

  • lost revenue

  • project downtime

  • missed deadlines

  • loss of business opportunity

  • data loss

  • incompatibility with third-party software or hardware

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Paper Cat Audio’s total liability arising from a software license will not exceed the amount you paid for the applicable product.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

22. Backups and production environments

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of projects, recordings, presets, installers, and other important data.

Before installing updates or making major changes to a production system, you should maintain reasonable backup and recovery options.

23. Export and legal compliance

You may not use, export, re-export, or distribute the software in violation of applicable law.

You are responsible for using the software lawfully in your jurisdiction.

24. Changes to this EULA

Paper Cat Audio may update this EULA where reasonably necessary to reflect changes in the software, licensing model, services, or applicable law.

Updated terms will be posted with a revised “Last updated” date.

Changes will generally apply prospectively and will not retroactively remove license rights already granted for a completed purchase unless required by law or agreed to by you.

25. Governing law

This EULA is governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

Nothing in this EULA is intended to remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

26. Severability

If any provision of this EULA is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

27. Entire agreement

This EULA, together with the applicable Terms & Conditions, Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, and any product-specific license terms, forms the agreement governing your purchase and use of Paper Cat Audio software.

If there is a conflict between this EULA and the general Terms & Conditions concerning use of the software itself, this EULA controls.
